After crafting the Wyrd House I though “why not” and headed to Celestia for the Celestial Observatory’s crafting recipe. This house is much harder to craft, be prepared! It can hold 250 inside and 250 items outside. Personally I love this house mostly because it has a PvP arena. Perfect for testing our duelist related things! Decorating it nicely could be a challenge, which I’m not ready to accept at the moment. Right now, mine is just a pet storing house.
1. The recipe
You can buy the recipe from Buxley Turtleton, The House Vendor in Celestia, for 75 000 gold. Buxley is located on Celestia Base Camp, near the Crustacean Empire. You have to be at least level 15 to craft his house and you need to be a Master Artisan.
Master Artisan is the badge you get for completing the Dragonspyre crafting quest. Here’s some links to get you started:

This house is quite hard to craft. It requires massive amounts of reagents, which can be very expensive to buy in the Bazaar. In total (amongst other things), you will need 52 Sunstones, 118 Pearls and 94 Fish Fins. Some of the reagents needed in this project are readily available if you have a Deadly Helephant Ears or Evil Magma Peas garden. You should definitely consider asking a friend who gardens to sell some, if you don’t garden yourself! You will also need 2 Celestian Shields, which you will have to farm for in Celestia.
2. The ingredients
For this recipe, you will need to craft some other things first: 7 Crystal Street Lamps, 4 Celestian Sconces and 8 Star Chalices. I will attempt to give you some pointers about the best locations to get the ingredients.
Crystal Street Lamp
These are a pain to make due to the sheer amount of them that you need. However, some things have gotten easier compared to, say, a year ago. You can find Polymorph Ninja Treasure Cards in the Bazaar nowadays for example!
Here’s what you need to make 7 Crystal Street Lamps:
- 14 Polymorph Ninja TC
- 14 Perfect Peridot
- 14 Glass Vial
- 28 Sunstone
- 42 Fish Fin
- 70 Pearl
- 28 Black Pearl
Where to get the reagents for Crystal Street Lamps
The Bazaar:
- 14 Polymorph Ninja Treasure Cards: in the Bazaar amongst the other Astral TCs.
- 42 Fish Fins: There were 66 available in the Bazaar when I checked. I bought them all though 😉 Other options: you can transmute Fish Fin from Scales, of which there were 97 available in the Bazaar when I checked. The plant Maelstrom Snap Dragon drops Fish Fins, but I have no personal experience with it. If you have access to a Spiral Cup gauntlet, I have gotten fairly many Fish Fins from there.
Reagent Vendor:
- 14 Perfect Peridots: Can be bought from the Reagent Vendors in Celestia, Zafaria, Avalon and Azteca. None were available in the Bazaar when I checked.
- 14 Glass Vials: Reagent Vendors in every world up from Marleybone sell Glass Vials. None were available in the Bazaar when I checked.
Gardening (or a little help from friends):
- 28 Sunstones: the traditional way to get Sunstones is long: transmuting Stone Blocks into Sandstone, and Sandstone into Sunstone. However, Sandstone is easier to get in the Bazaar than it used to be, so you could try that route. Another option is to ask a friend that gardens Deadly Helephant Ears or Evil Magma Peas to sell some for you. These plants drop both Sandstone and Sunstone, though Sandstone is much more common. The transmute recipes can be bought from Kimba Kalla (Floating Land, CL) and Avery Templeton (Base Camp, CL).
- 70 Pearls: This is another reagent you probably have plenty of, if you garden Evil Magma Peas or Deadly Helephant Ears. Other options: Pearls can be transmuted from Black Lotus with the recipe sold by Kimba Kalla (Floating Land, CL) or Avery Templeton (Celestia Base Camp). Some people with too much time on their hands collect Pearls in the Portico in Celestia. In Avalon there are some in Deepwater and Lake Shore. Personally I would ask a friend who gardens to sell some for me.
Transmute:
- 28 Black Pearls: These can be transmuted from Black Lotus with the recipe sold by Kimba Kalla (Floating Land, CL) or Toshio (Jade Palace, MS). Black Lotus can be collected in Mooshu (for more information, read this guide). You COULD try the Bazaar and might get lucky.
Celestian Sconce
This item has gotten easier to craft as well! Aether is now in ample supply in the Bazaar, hooray! You can get the recipe for the Celestian Sconce from Gearwise in Celestia Base Camp for 13,005 gold.
Here’s what you need to make 4 Celestian Sconces:
- 4 Gargantuan TC
- 4 Perfect Sapphire
- 4 Crystal Vial
- 8 Golden Pearl
- 24 Aether
- 80 Acorn
- 20 Fish Fin
Where to get the reagents for the Celestian Sconces
The Bazaar:
- 8 Golden Pearls: When I checked, there were 485 Golden Pearls available in the Bazaar. If they’ve run out, ask a friend that gardens Deadly Helephant Ears or Evil Magma Peas to sell some for you.
- 24 Aethers: When I checked, there were 448 Aether available in the Bazaar. If they’ve run out, you can transmute Aether from Kelp with the recipe from Avery Templeton or Kimba Kalla in Celestia. Kelp is also available in the Bazaar nowadays.
- 80 Acorns: This might take you a while, because 80 Acorns is a LOT! Luckily, this reagent can be found in Darkmoor nowadays, as a rare drop from Mistwood. When I checked, there were 198 Acorns available in the Bazaar. You can transmute Acorns from Mistwood using the recipe from Eudora Tangletree (WC), Avery Templeton (CL) and Kimba Kalla (CL). You can also do Winterbane Hall, where most of the bosses drop Acorns.
- 20 Fish Fins: There were 66 available in the Bazaar when I checked. A few hours later, I checked again, and there were 406 available. Other options: you can transmute Fish Fin from Scales, of which there were 97 available in the Bazaar when I checked. The plant Maelstrom Snap Dragon drops Fish Fins, but I have no personal experience with it. If you have access to a Spiral Cup gauntlet, I have gotten fairly many Fish Fins from there.
Reagent Vendor:
- 4 Perfect Sapphires: sold by the Reagent Vendors in Celestia, Zafaria, Avalon and Azteca.
- 4 Crystal Vials: sold by the Reagent Vendors in Mooshu, Dragonspyre, Celestia, Wysteria, Zafaria, Avalon and Azteca.
The Archivist:
- 4 Gargantuan TCs: The Archivist in District of the Stars, Celestia for 500 gold. (I would buy 5 Unstoppable TC and 8 Monstrous TC at the same time, because you need them for other parts of this recipe)
Star Chalice
You can get the recipe for the Star Chalice from Buxley Turtleton in Celestia Base Camp for 14,430 gold.
Here’s what you need to make 8 Star Chalices:
- 8 Monstrous TC
- 8 Shadow Oil
- 8 Pristine Vial
- 24 Sunstone
- 32 Fish Fin
- 48 Pearl
- 80 Fire Blossom
Where to get the reagents for the Star Chalices
The Bazaar:
- 32 Fish Fins: I’d just refresh the Bazaar for a little while until I’d have enough. Other options: you can transmute Fish Fin from Scales, of which there were 97 available in the Bazaar when I checked. The plant Maelstrom Snap Dragon drops Fish Fins, but I have no personal experience with it. If you have access to a Spiral Cup gauntlet, I have gotten fairly many Fish Fins from there.
- 80 Fire Blossoms: There were 216 of these available in the Bazaar when I checked. If there aren’t enough, you can transmute Fire Blossom from Lava Lillies with the recipe from Balthazar Dragonthorn (Atheneum, Dragonspyre), Avery Templeton (Celestia Base Camp) or Kimba Kalla (Floating Land, Celestia). There were 165 Lava Lillies available in the Bazaar when I checked.
Reagent Vendor:
- 8 Shadow Oil: Sold by the Reagent Vendors in all worlds up from Krokotopia. There were 12 available in the Bazaar when I checked, so it might be worth checking there too.
- 8 Pristine Vial: Sold by the Reagent Vendors in Celestia, Zafaria, Avalon and Azteca. None were available in the Bazaar when I checked.
The Archivist:
- 8 Monstrous TCs: The Archivist in District of the Stars, Celestia 250 gold.

For this, you need to go farm a boss, unfortunately. The boss is called Curuin Charmtooth, and resides in Charmtooth’s Lair, District of the Stars, Celestia. Here‘s the link to the Wizard101 wiki to check out his details.
Other ingredients
Have you managed to craft all the above? Amazing! You can be proud of yourself!
Now you just need a few much easier to get items, and you will be all done.
- 5 Unstoppable Treasure Cards: There were 41 available in the Bazaar when I checked. The Archivist (in District of the Stars, Celestia) also sells them for 250 gold.
- 5 Perfect Onyxs: There were only 7 available in the Bazaar, so I think you’d be better off heading to a Reagent Vendor in Celestia, Zafaria, Avalon or Azteca.
- 3 Pristine Vials: Same as the previous: Reagent Vendors in Celestia, Zafaria, Avalon or Azteca sell these.
- 3 Celestian Tree Sprig Housing Items: Available in the Bazaar under “plant life”. There were 48 available when I checked.
Next, head to Grizzleheim and find the Grizzleheim Crafting Station. No, you can’t craft a house in your dorm, it’s way too small for that! You can find the Crafting Station in Northguard, just look at your map once you’ve entered Grizzleheim!
That’s all there is to it!
I reckon crafting this will take you a while, but it’s well worth it. Use the resources available in the game and don’t be afraid to ask a friend for help! Have fun crafting the Celestial Observatory!
