ICE Arrests Police Officer for Being in the US Illegally: A Shocking Case in Chicago (2025)

Shocking news from the suburbs of Chicago: A police officer has been arrested by ICE, accused of being in the United States illegally. This case brings to light complex questions about immigration, law enforcement, and public safety. Let's dive in.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the individual in question is Radule Bojovic, who was employed as an officer by the Hanover Park Police Department. The arrest took place as part of 'Operation Midway Blitz,' a recent surge in immigration enforcement across Illinois, as stated by the DHS.

Bojovic, a native of Montenegro, allegedly overstayed his tourist visa for a decade, and was ordered to leave the U.S. in March 2015. The DHS also pointed out that it is a felony for someone in the U.S. illegally to possess a firearm.

But here's where it gets controversial... DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement criticizing the situation, stating, "Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn't just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois's communities, he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers." She questioned the standards of the police department involved. ABC News has sought comment from the Hanover Park Police Department but has yet to receive a response.

Online ICE records indicate that Bojovic is currently in custody, although the location of his detention is not specified. The date and location of his arrest are also currently unknown.

Further investigation reveals that Bojovic was accepted into the Hanover Park Police Pension Fund in January with a starting salary of almost $79,000, based on village records. He also completed his training and graduated from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy in August, according to a social media post by the Hanover Park Police Department.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also weighed in on social media, expressing concern over the situation, and said that radical sanctuary politicians have allowed criminal illegal aliens to infiltrate our school districts, communities, and even police departments.

And this is the part most people miss... This case highlights the challenges and complexities of immigration enforcement, particularly when it intersects with law enforcement. It raises questions about vetting processes, legal standards, and the balance between public safety and individual rights. What do you think?
